INGREDIENT STORY
This ketchup started its life as a limited edition chutney sold at Borough Market when Rubies in the Rubble first started. The unusual flavour developed somewhat of a cult following and when the product was no longer available to buy, there was public outcry! Shortly afterwards they brought it back as a permanent addition to the range.
They use over-ripe bananas in this ketchup that would be rejected by supermarkets for being mushy by the time they got onto the shelf. This is good news for Rubies, because the ripe ones are the perfect kind for their ketchup!
Also, fun fact: Banana ketchup originated in the Philippines, due to a lack of tomato ketchup during the Second World War.
